In view of the General Assembly Elections in Maharashtra, the Government of Maharashtra has declared the day of Polling i.e Tuesday, October 13, 2009 a Public Holiday in the State under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Accordingly, both the exchanges will also observe Tuesday, October 13, 2009 as a Holiday. A notice is also being issued to all trading members declaring Tuesday, October 13, 2009 as a trading holiday.
